I'd think about it too, IF it could be licensed in California (which I doubt).

USA i don't think so ....

but here in Canada, i would think yes.

how much?

Tough, there is a 15 year import rule in canada so it is admissible to the year and month of manufacture. You'd need to find out when it was manufactured - the month. It's a 25 year rule in the USA so they are pretty much out of luck - unless you do what TLCruiserman does to get them titled. Since it is here that is half the battle though - I am not sure of your obligations as far as returning it or what they told you when you arrived.

I am pretty sure that someone would buy it in a heartbeat though.

If its on a caveat, aren't you required to take it back out the country with you?

Sean

If they wait another 5 weeks it will be 15 years old and the Canucks can buy it if their govt has no objections to travelers offloading their vehicle bought in for temporary purposes.

Some friends of mine are taking their oz registered bikes on a tour of North America. The US consulate has told them once the oz licence on the bikes runs out they can not be issued another temp permit, nor can they be registered in the US.
The vehicle must then be removed from US soil or be crushed.

5 weeks or perhaps 45 weeks. It goes by the date of manufacture but either way, one should be able to store it in the US untill that date is here. I'm trying not to be very tempted by this one but its hard.

Having had a Cruiser seized and crushed, I'd want to make sure the t's were all crossed.

USA might be an option. I was able to Title/register my 97 HZJ75 Troppy from OZ in California, and did nothing special just walked into DMV and out with plates, title came a few weeks later in the mail. I guess it is all a game of chance.

Cheers,

Michael

philipp0205, I might be interested. What is the month of manufacture in 1993, as that is the month in 2008 that it can be imported into Canada. Can you post a picture, or email images to me.

Thanks
Don
