Hey Folks,

My 2013 LX is about 3/4 to 1" high on the passenger side in front. In the rear both sides are only about 1/4" difference. Measurements taken while vehicle was a level garage floor.

Is that much of a difference normal and of any concern?

Pretty common. I used to fixate on this and kept trying to adjust the "lean" with the KDSS leveling procedure (for LC, not sure how AHC changes that for LX). My advice is if it is less that 1" difference, just forget about it. It doesn't hurt anything and is just how the rig looks and no one else will see it it besides you. The corners will change based on how the rig is loaded with people and stuff. Lots of threads on this topic. search KDSS and/or lean.

I passed on an LX with a driver-side sag because I thought it was an indicator of catastrophic AHC failure. After finding the RIGHT LX for me, I wound up digging a little deeper into this and from what I could glean, it can be easily addressed with a sensor adjustment. I know that’s going to come with new AHC pressures at the affected corner, etc. That being said, I remember reading on here somewhere that someone had addressed the issue years ago and hasn’t led to any down-the-road problems. The problem is common, and affected vehicles sell frequently (from what I can gather).

Assess your appetite for risk, and make sure you get a variety of quotes for the repair if you’re not going to do it yourself. More than anything, just make sure that when you pull the trigger on the car, that you’re not going to be living with anything thats going to bother you as you drive the thing home.

Just a strangers two cents.

The LX has manual adjustment of the sensors on each corner of the suspension, and while I’ve not messed with it I gather there is some adjustment that can be done in techstream as well.

Thanks very much for the excellent answer! It’s a new to me vehicle so I’m planning on having a pre purchase inspection done on everything.

I wasn’t sure if the AHC might be at issue but the fluid was changed out at about 30k so I didn’t think it was a situation of bad fluid fouling the accumulators or lines, etc.

It did have an apparently relatively minor accident (CarFax) on that side but the body shop I checked with wasn’t even sure the bumper cover was replaced although the headlight was and the fender was blended in.

Thanks! I took it Lexus for a comprehensive inspection and they said that it's common and there's nothing they do to correct it. So I guess I assume they know what's best.

Appreciate the answer. Lexus said it was common and they wouldn't recommend I do anything so for a vehicle that's not on warranty I think that says something.

Ah, missed this as I was out campin. Actually the man at this may be @radman.

To the OP, some sag and variation is normal, and common to slinky suspension vehicles. It's not really indicative of any failure or issue. It's just what 4x4s do over time between the sagging of the body mount bushings and coil springs. You may be able to have AHC adjust for it somewhat. Could just leave it well enough alone.

If you want to adjust, look into the AHC height offset utility. Or just physically adjust the sensor just the slightest bit on that low side.

Thanks very much for the scoop!

I have another issue in another post ... but to summarize, the vehicle started to vibrate after I did a U Turn. Was shaking pretty significantly but the steering wheel wasn't really vibrating. Eventually I did a reverse side U turn and it seemed to stop. May have been complete coincidence of course. Then a day later I was driving about 55 straight and it started again... not as bad. I switched to Sport Mode and it seemed to mitigate or stop it. Lexus looked at it during a full inspection and of course said they couldn't duplicate so nothing was wrong. Any ideas??

Could be any number of things. Definitely worth digging deeper.

Wheel bearing, steering rack tie rod end, lower control arm ball joint, upper or lower control arm. Could even be the CV axle.
