Then I don't understand your problems ???

Gas is very cheap in your place. Think about the poor guys in Europe and other places who pay double the amount for one gallon.

Here in Thailand we have the same prices like you people in the USA. I personally have no problems with them and find them cheap. So I don't talk about mileage

Because poor gas mileage is an indication that something is out of whack. Also, who likes to pay more money than he has to?

My mileage varies from 13.5 to 15.9 miles to the US gallon. With mixed driving on country roads and highway.

Truck is basically stock.
The price of gas here in Canada is about $0.65 to $0.80 a liter.

I care about the cost. :)

I get approximately 11 mpg around town and 14-15 with mixed driving, as another data point. My 80 is a 97 with 44K miles, synth oil and new tires at 36psi. Of course, I keep it in power mode and have a heavy right foot for Atlanta combat driving.

WOW, $2.65++ a gallon, no wonder your health care is so cheap it is supported by the gas prices :'(

Yep, we take it up the ... here in the land of social engineering.
With my last tank of gas driving in up to 12" of heavy, fresh and old snow, cold temps and the vehicle never really warming up as the trips to town and the ski hill are too short,(2.5 miles either way), and going up a steep hill every trip, I got a whopping 8.5 miles to the US gallon :D.
Cheers,
Sean

something must be outa whack on my crusier then cuz mines almost stock with the exception of an ARB bumper, lights and roof rack. i cant break the 10 MPG. wounder what the deal is?

mike ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

The first "long" trip I took in my cruiser I checked the mileage at 17.75. Constant 65MPH with a good long hill climb from 100 ft to 6,000 ft and then back down. I thought this wasa awesome. Since that time I average 15-16 mixed (very light foot). I have M1 in the crank case and will also change into the diffs and transfer case and trans. I've wondered what the effect of pulling the ears (mirrors) and dropping the antenna would be on a long road trip? I used to have a Westfalia diesel (48hp) as a camping/fishing/back packing vehicle. I used to fold the ears back on the highway, was good for about 5mph and a couple mpg.

BTW, cold weather seams to effect the LC more than my other cars.

Roof rack is a major mileage killer.

Yep, ditto on the roof rack mileage killer. Mine will cost me a couple mpg on the interstate. I see around 11-12mpg in the city pretty consistently.
