I just watched the video. That is pretty helpful. I had to work this afternoon so I didn’t get as far as I wanted but I’ll be back at it in the morning before work. Set up an “easy up” to get some shade and I’m using my 40 as a stand for a box fan to help out a little. About 100 with the heat index today

Before I started I covered the template with clear packing tape to make it a little more solid and allow me to use the masking tape to hold it to the truck without tearing up the paper. It worked pretty well.

A little more progress before work today. Back at it first thing tomorrow morning. I’ll have help tomorrow so I hope to get get it all button up. I still have to take the winch apart and rotate the clutch around so that will take a little extra time. I hope to be back together with everything working by lunch. The instructions said it would take 3 hours. I call bull**** on that one. Especially with the missing things in the instructions like the extra trimming and how the factory stuff comes apart. The ARB Video was very helpful.

Thanks. All my instructions said was , remove bumper from vehicle. I was able to figure it out though. I got a decent start on it this morning before work.
The Ironman instructions are just a 2 step procedure. Can't get any easier:

Step 1: Remove old bumper
Step 2: Install Ironman bumper

voila!

Since they’re a direct copy of the ARB, and have been for multiple generations, I’m surprised it doesn’t say. “Refer to ARB instructions for install”.

I really like it and the quality is better than I expected for the price. Heavy duty and the welds look good but, instructions are crap! Nothing in there about taking the bumper off and no template for the cuts in the middle of the bumper and the scoop for the transmission cooler.

Finally got it done.
I just ordered the Ironman bumper for my LX. How did the trim templates work out for you? It looks like they may have been a bit off on the sides near the fender, but it may just be a trick of lighting or shadows. Are you happy with the template cuts?

here is my LX specific write up fit the iron man bumper

Thanks for the link, I thought I had read your write up but clearly I hadn’t. You answer my template question right off the bat. I’ll read your write up a few times now and decide if I want to tackle it myself or pay someone. I got a quote for $800 to install and although that’s not unfair for the amount of work, it hurts to pay almost as much to install it as it did to purchase it.

For $800 I would seriously consider paying somebody. It really enjoyed it, learned a lot, but it was a ton of work!
