Hello!

This platform has given me a great deal of help over the last ~5 years since I took ownership of my 100. I’m grateful for so many helpful and passionate people all over the world. So, I figured it necessary to start contributing and recently set up an account.

For me, I’ve grown up in and around a garage witnessing a wide range from full engine rebuilds to welding to body work and paint. Although self proclaimed, know my way around a vehicle but by no means am capable of much outside of standard maintenance.

For my truck; I bought a 2006 LX470 with under 100k in 2019. I purchased it sight unseen from a family who had several vehicles. It was originally sold by larry miller Lexus in UT and kept in a garage averaging ~7k miles a year. It’s silver with grey interior and I’m proud of it. I drive it daily and I’ve taken it out to put it through its paces.

Though after 5 years of ownership it’s still got low mileage at 145k, given its age, things have happened.

Such as;
Alternator
Both CVs
SAIS failure (Hewitt bypass installed)
Trans fluid leak into wiring harness (white plug on drivers side filled with trans fluid so immediately replaced internal and external trans harness to prevent future harness seepage) I’m told this is a rare issue

Minor modifications;
Metal tech sliders
BFG ko2
Baja puddle light replacements
Tnutz cross bars on factory roof rails
Replaced cigarette lighter with 5a usb
Bluetooth adapter (bt45 toy)

I’m close to an OHV park, Uwharrie. Taken it there half dozen times, cruisers on the rocks at Windrock park. Very impressed with the capabilities while being a wonderful family vehicle.

Although there may be minor frustrations with owning a near 20 year old vehicle, I think it’s worth it. I very much enjoy this truck.

In addition to the 100, I previously owned a gen2 GX which I recently sold and picked up a 2019 200. I’ll own these trucks for a long as I possibly can and again, I’m thankful for this platform and the knowledge shared.

Thanks

Check out our NC Land Cruiser club, ONSC --> NC- Olde North State Cruisers - https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/nc-olde-north-state-cruisers.54/

We're extremely active and there's a large group of folks down in the CLT area. The clubhouse linked above is where we mainly have our discussions and communications. We do two big wheeling events at Uwharrie every year and two smaller events at what we affectionately call "the Barn" down in Uwharrie for Christmas and in the early part of the year. Introduce yourself in the clubhouse and come out to an event.
