Hi,
I had the same problem. I was able to locate the problem, it was a frozen pipe from the cooling unit (88501E).
I'm not sure for this part list, might be a different Toyota. But it showes the pipes going to and from the cooling unit. One of them was broken

Happy new year
Greg
I can't seem to get my AC compressor to kick on either when its very cold outside. I thought setting it to MAX would allow it to kick on but no results for me.Thank you. This pipe in fridge compartment?
It looks like compressor is not even running when I switch it on AC. May it be because of low outside temperature?
In my 80 series, the fridge was always the first to go when I started having A/C problems (a small leak that would necessitate a new gasket and a system recharge, for instance). It would heat up because of it's proximity to the transmission tunnel and because there was a small fan inside to circulate the air. If the compressor isn't kicking on, I'd find your local A/C specialist; it's probably a issue with the overall system more than the cooler itself.Hi,
Internal fridge in armrest just started to heat instead cooling. Is it driven by A/C compressor?
Looks like compressor doesn’t start either when I’m switching AC. Any idea what to start looking from?
Thanks.

Good point. In my garage is constant +7C now. I think I have to wait for warmer days. Can you measure the refrigerant pressure? You just need a gauge. If not, could you maybe park your truck in a heated garage, let it warm up, and then see if the A/C is actually working in the cabin? If not, that might suggest there is a leak and you lost the refrigerant. (Happened to us.)
