We have solved the issue. (I think) It just started ten times in a row.
I removed the factory alarm system.

I am experiencing the same thing in my 1991 FJ80. The motor cranks just fine but won't start. If I let it sit for 10 minutes it will start. Thought it was the fuel pump but now since I read this I am second guessing my diagnosis. I have no use for the alarm system. I don't have the key fobs anyway. Where is the Alarm on a 91 anyway?

I am not sure if the 91 came with an oem alarm system. My 97 has one under the drivers seat and my 91 did not have one under the drivers.

My 91 did have an aftermarket alarm thingy that would act up from time to time. I think it was called an rs-3000 or viper something.
