Are there any parts that can be used from a 91 GMC Jimmy? It has a 4.3 L w/ a 700 R tranny, Just curious since the parts are going to be fairly cheap. Will the tranny and xfer case mount up to a 283 sbc??

That 4.3 is going to be stronger and more reliable in the long run than the 283, which is only a 4.7, and it's already fuel injected, IIRC.

I would use the 4.3 it is a nice engine. Basically a 350 with 2 cylinders removed... If I had one I woudl use it and not the 350 I am using.

The 700 should bolt up to your 283. I think all trannys and SBCs bolted up to a certain year.

700 are nice, almost got one myself but kept the 350 for some reason.
