Intake manifold where carburetor sits has a significant forward (toward front of vehicle) slant. Any idea why? 1981. I have a new riser but, that’s level so the carb will still have a forward lean.

Theories include a forward lean so it sits level while going uphill because land cruisers should only go uphill? Honestly curious though if anyone knows.

I thought it was, the engine slants back and the slant in the carb mounting surface make the carb sit level. No?

Totally normal. Drivetrain points down rearward so the carb pad slant keeps it level. I find it interesting because outside of the showroom or workshop, what road or driving condition is perfectly level?
