you know I new this probably would come and I knew when my parents had problems with insuring their house that they had been living in for thirty years. The insurance company felt that the wiring and panel needed to be upgraded and even though the city inspectors said it was safe and did not break any code rules. The insurance companies still would not insure them, they might as well write their own electrical code book. Well I do not like the future outlook, the government might allow them but the insurance companies might not.

One other avenue is to find out who is insuring the posties and garbage trucks that are RHD. I wonder what would they say about that if they are insuring RHD's for some customers and not others. Sometimes you have to fight them with legal speak. I am sure that there are no courses put on for those drivers.

the RR drivers have to find their own insurance coverage for their RHD delivery units...
no blanket coverage offered..

...so looks like us JDM owners only get 3rd party coverage now, which means our monthly payments should be cut in half... yeah right, I can't wait to chat with them about that...

I would threaten to pull all my insurance policies from the company for that sort of thing!

Is this a right hand drive issue or a non-Canada/USA import thing (they are not the same as I can get left hand drive diesel 'Cruisers new here in Guatemala and I'll eventually be bringing my FJ45LV up too)?

Wayne,

Having an expert prove the ICBC report incorect would not be the same as proving that it was fraudulent...very different legal test for that. However, the ICBC report was based on poorly researched and selectively chosen bits of information (IMHOP) so showing it is biased against RHD vehicles without reasonable reason for being so would be fairly easy to do - should be.

go to IVOAC and do a search, what they based their information on was farudulant NOT incorrect. they have vehicles in accidents that were never even registered on their list.

i do know the difference between incorrect (ooops) and fraudulant (bold face lying).

I recall "somone" providing IVOAC a detailed review of their report and detailed questions to ask ICBC - particlarly the authors. I wonder if this was ever submitted to icbc and if so, was a response received?

Further - since ICBC seems to have no hesitation writing off any JDM for so much as a crinkled fender (for example), should it come as a suprise when they will tell us "Geez you guys...your cars are too expensive....look at all our payouts in the last few years".

Maybe I shouldve posted over at IVOAC...
