Installing Dash Pad Retainer and Panel to FJ40 Colombian Truck? (2 Viewers)

@Ackcruisers I'm in the same boat...have an 80 BJ40 that never had dash pad but would like to add it. How has your project progressed? Curious if you got the 55381 panel and if it was straight forward to attach. Aside from the pad itself and the retainer any other major parts required?

Not sure how I missed the question from @Laxman68. I ended up not installing a dash pad on my 40. I wound up liking the streamlined look of no dash pad.

I replaced my dash panel a couple years ago, so the dash pad piece had to be moved also. It is all spot welded. Anything that protrudes past the mounting surface will interfere with the big rubber gasket that sits behind there.
