The clip on the door handle is much easier to get off if you get rid of that plastic wheel between the handle and the door, and make sure to put the clip back on the correct side... theres a tab that holds it out a bit to make it easier for removal next time.

For the plastic sheet instead of pulling it completely off you can just slit it open where you need to get through it (at the bolt locations), and maybe slice a tab open at the bottom acces hole. Then just tape those holes back up.

Is there an issue with the sound deadener getting wet and holding the moisture in, possibly causing mildew or rust?
well the stuff I used was rubber. So no way for it hold moisture. Then when you stick it on you can roll it on tight. I also used a heatgun to soften the rubber as I rolled in on.

It was completely stuck on tight. So I really doubt water could get underneath or cause any rust issues.

But I also had painted the inside of my doors with POR-15 too.

Rats! - you guys keep finding good things for me to do! My windows roll up like there's a quart of tree sap in the door. Thanks for the tip - I am adding this to the winter list. Especially the sound deadening trick.

Phew!

One quick learning from this process... Put a towel or something under the door as you are trying to put that clip back on. I dropped it three times and each time it bounced across the room and finally came within an inch of going down the drain in the garage!

Does anyone have a pic of the window regulator so I can figure out what to glop lithium grease on?
