Slowly acquiring the parts for the 440-H55 swap. Got the bell housing (3F), I pre-fitted the inspection cover, but it doesn't seem to fit up. I don't have the motor to dry fit it to, but I don't think I need it for fitment purposes. I'm pretty sure the cover should hug the contours of the bell housing, but you never know.

You have the wrong inspection cover . My '87 has the 3F bellhousing and the cover has a longer bottom to mold around the contour.
