When I put the truck in reverse, the rear wiper swipes once. The rear wiper is in the off position but the front wipers are on or in the mist modes. Occasionally the rear wiper will sweep once even with the front wipers off when I engage reverse. Is this a normal feature? Could the rain sensor in the front windshield activate the rear wiper once?

There should be an explanation in the manual, but a lot of vehicles automatically turn the rear wiper on if reverse is selected and the front wipers are on, or in the intermittent position, maybe due to the fact that yours is in automatic mode with the rain sensor, it gives a wipe when reversing anyway?

Sounds like one of those "We're such clever engineers" features that kicks in so rarely that you assume something must be wrong.

If the front wipers are in the automatic mode, they will control the rear wiper when you switch to reverse.

I like it.
