I’ve recently upgraded my 2013 200 Series with zero offset 20 inch wheels (you can laugh if you’d like, but I enjoy them). Additionally, I added some 275/60r 20s tires. There was some minor scrubbing against the fender liner. The passenger side was already falling apart, so I decided to rip both of them out. I ordered some new ones that I intend on cutting properly to avoid rubbing. I’ve been driving for about 2 weeks without inner fender liners on the front. So here’s my question. How bad of an idea would it be to continue doing that on the 200 series? I know your fog lights would probably die eventually, but what else would inevitably happen?

Any time you drive in the rain there is now an unobstructed path for water spray to enter your airbox. A handful of people here have ruined engines by entering water that would be just fine in a rig with a stock bumper, but their aftermarket armor required cutting the liners and this likely led to water ingress.

Not saying driving in the rain will kill your engine, but the point is a lot more moisture an presumably dust and crap from the road will end up needing to get caught by the filter.

It’s raining on my way to work now 😂. But that makes sense. I want to get this thing to atleast 350k. So I’m impatiently waiting on my aftermarket fender lining to get here.
