We have an 86 2H engine that has been turbo'd and have heard that with the change in pressure, the injectors should be rebuilt and modified for the increased cylinder pressure: will a stock 12HT injector fit into a 2H engine so I can just replace these rather than have them rebuilt?

thanks for your wisdom!

2H injectors (above) and 12HT injectors. As you can see the physical shape is vastly different.
If your 2H injectors are good, they can be shimmed to increase the cracking pressure.

The turbo increases the cylinder pressure during the injection event, meaning the injectors must be calibrated slightly higher to overcome the increase to provide a decent atomization. Its not much, though
I believe non-turbo IDI injectors run about 1700psi and turbo injectors run about 2100psi working pressure.
This is true for most toyota and Mitsubishi sticks.

Slightly advanced static timing and dynamic advance of the pump is also required for 'proper' running.
