Injector Pump
Okay - have not had my Cruiser long - 76 BJ40 - and never had a diesel before. Didn't get much education from the guy that sold it to me either. I don't think he had much more of clue than I do. Ha!
Anyway, the injector pump has a dipstick but the only place I see to add oil is in the dipstick hole itself, which is a challenge and a pain.
There are two holes on the stick I would guess to indicate when there is oil in the pump. There is usually oil on the stick but when I wipe the stick dry and check it, none registers, so I add oil then it pukes oil out a hose on the other end of the pump like I have added too much. What gives?
Any advice or information regarding the proper maintenance of the pump is appreciated.
Thanks
