Switched overdrive off today while driving and noticed the O/D OFF light didn't appear on the cluster. Son-of-a. Any possible reason for this other than the bulb being burnt out? ...which is odd for the amount of use it gets.

Did it shift out of O/D?

yeah, i can feel the difference in and out. must just be the bulb. if it didnt shift out of o/d. what would be the problem?

All the dash indicator bulbs are prone to failure, ie. "D", "pwr", etc.

It could be the switch itself.

I have to wiggle the switch slightly every now and then to get it out of o/d. The dash bulb would not come on and it did not downshift. After cycling the switch (off-on-off-on. . .) a few times and a little front to rear wiggle it now functions normally.

Thats interesting. I'll give if a good wiggling today. Thanks for the input!

Search for a great detailed thread on replacing these bulbs...

if you are extra paranoid you can check if there is a stored tranny trouble code in the TCM. of course you need a working o/d light to do that :D
