There was a few threads where people have discussed a couple guys on here that work for a dealer or shomething and can get OEM parts for a great price, but I can't seem to find there info now. I have been trouble shooting my P0401 code and am pretty sure my Vacum Modulator is toast. I want to order that and update the VSV to the blue one at the same time.

Sam at Lowe Toyota or
Brian at ACC (not a dealer but works with Sam)

Cruiser Dan or Beno at American Toyota.

Check the Vendor section.

If you're going that far might as well get a new EGR valve. Check your engine harness while you're in there.

i called Lowe and American Toyota but they are both just dealerships and they both quoted me the same prices that my local dealer quoted me. I thought there were some guys on here that were parts dealers only and gave discounted rates to forum members.

That adds another $200+ to the cost which I don't have. The entire EGR replacement is also a much bigger job. The modulator is on top and is super easy to swap out. The VSV (which is what has probably failed) is on the side and not too difficult to replace either. I have heard of guys just cleaning out the EGR with good results. I need to look into that option and see how difficult/time consuming that will be. Also need to find a write up on here for doing that option.

Did you actually talk to the guys who are the vendors here on Mud, such as Beno (onur) and CDan at the two Albuquerque dealerships and Sam at Lowes Toyota? Or did you just call the general parts desk number. Because the parts should be cheaper than your local dealership even with shipping charges.

Dude.

You have to ask for the specific person and then tell them you're from 'MUD.

Guaranteed waaaay cheaper than your local dealer on most items, even with shipping.

Plus, they know our rigs inside and out, so they know exactly what you're talking about and get you the correct part first time/every time.

Ask for Onur.

Job must be pretty damn good to justify moving to a land where they force-carbonate their micro-brews.

Does this move put you out of the OEM parts purveyor business? I saw an ad in TT regarding Proffitt's having a sideline selling parts now.

Got ahold of Dan and the prices went WAY down. He got me a great deal. I will be ordering from him from here on out.

Well, that's changed a bit too....life moves fast. Check new signature.
