I need help. I am in need of a 1HD engine. My Block is shot due to Broke crankshaft and everything else is in working order. I am in the market for a long or short block. How much should it be? Who would have one? Are Japan engines worthy? Anyone have a complete engine? Any information would be helpful. I will need the engine in the states. Thanks again

I have a block that is good, within spec, no need of boring. I also have 5 conrods that are good and 6 pistons/ rings. I've also got new rod bearings. No crank but I had a line on one for $250AUS + shipping and I can check on it for you. I'm looking for $1000 for the lot of what I have.
The short blocks coming out of Japan will be in the neighborhood of $5000+ shipping, maybe a little less or more depending on what's available.

Try getting in touch with G&S cruiser parts. They may be able to help you.
You should be able to have a competent machine shop sleeve the cylinder if it cannot be bored out.
I know that G&S picked up Nickw's rolled '81 about 2 weeks ago. They may still have the engine. It was definitely a good engine.

Also boring is ok if its within the specs and oversize pistons and rings are available.
The engine/tranny and all 80 diesel swap parts out of nicks rollover are sold for an FJ80 conversion.
Bare 1HD-T engines are not something we get that often, usually they are Engine/tranny/case etc and they generally sell that way.
