Hey ya'll
havent been on here for a while, but just recieved this email from the RI that I used last July and Oct to import my diesels and figured everyone would appriciate it:

Hello again Brian,

I've been meaning to email you for quite some time now. I started my own business about seven months ago and so far it's going well. Fortunately I took my cell phone number with me so I have been able to help some of the people you have sent my way. If you have given out my old email addy to anyone, they were probably scooped up by the old company.

I have been amazed by the Landcruiser community. Since the first one I did for you I have done eighteen more all connected in some way to yours. That old shampoo commercial-You told two friends and they told two friends and so on and so on. I have seen my name on a State-wide Landcruiser Club website (can't remember which state). No other vehicle type that I have run into has this amount of networking.

There have been two units that I couldn't do (a RHD and one missing the door label) but all the others have gone off without a hitch. I'm working on one right now for Randy Hyde who is buying from the same guy you bought from and a 1983 BJ42 for a Professor in Florida who read about me in a Landcruiser chatroom.

Anyway, I just wanted to say "hi" and "thank you" as well as pass along my company info. If you're ever in the neighborhood and need a cold beer, I owe ya.

Regards,

so this is great news for those wanting CDM units to the states. thanks for the post.
it seems he is having trouble with the RHD units though...
too bad.
cheers

I hope to see more cruisers coming into the states from Central America. I have spoke to Nick at panamoffroad.com and he has been bringing in some really nice BJ40s and HJ45s from Costa Rica.

I wonder how hard it would be to get some of the later 60 and 70 series cruiser legally imported from down there?

The one missing the door label was mine. It had been removed, or sanding off, when the rig was repainted. Carco made a new one for me. Good to hear his business is doing well.

you got a new sticker for your truck, how did it work?

you just send the info and they do it for you?

I didn't send the info, or even ask for the tag. They must have had the specs for the vehicle to do it. They also placed a tag on the valve cover. which says that the vehicle had been imported by them, and meets EPA requirements.

Most of Panamá imports ( or all ) comes directli from Japan, but with our specs. Only some special orders in 80 series for example come with rear tire carrier, but most comes with freezer ( center console ) double tank and rear factory LSD.
