I have been plagued with overheating issues for half a dozen years now. The truck has always been on the higher side of comfortable. I have now done everything under the sun to try and mitigate the issue to no avail!!!!!

Today was the straw. Its currently 110º outside my house here in West Hills, CA. As you can see from the image, the truck is now at 234º. Its typical temp, when its over 100º out, is 213-217º. I really don't know where else to go with bringing the temps even into the warm range that most SC owners deal with. My truck is just too damn hot. I'm all ears guys. Here is the long and short of what I've done so far (all under 30k miles):

• Truck as 327k 334k miles on it. Engine was completely and expensively rebuilt at 298k:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/engine-rebuilding-options-for-s-c.553208/

• During the rebuild the SC thermostat, all hoses, all belts, water pump were replaced with all OEM:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/engine-rebuilding-options-for-s-c.553208/page-8#post-7367876

• or so I thought. Tstat was Beck Arnley, replaced with OEM:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/im...erheating-despite-best-efforts.813023/page-43

• In April, before my big Yellowstone trip, I replaced my s***ty radiator with a Ron Davis all aluminum radiator:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ne...ing-into-stupidity.802799/page-4#post-9227967

• Entire cooling system was flushed and then flushed again with distilled then filled with 50/50 Toyota RED and distilled:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ne...ing-into-stupidity.802799/page-3#post-9196744

• Exhaust manifolds and shields were ceramic coated:

• Heater control valve replaced with OEM:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/engine-rebuilding-options-for-s-c.553208/page-22#post-7700890

• AISIN blue hub fan clutch new from Amazon and filled with 30k CST and adjusted to 105º, fan roars on start up and roars when driving:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/blue-fan-clutch-mod.102633/page-34#post-9227333

• Radiator misting system added to reduce spiking temps:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ne...ing-into-stupidity.802799/page-4#post-9226672

• Added flush hose to also allow for burping the cooling system:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ne...ing-into-stupidity.802799/page-5#post-9233838

• Louvers added to the hood:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/my-newly-vented-hood-20-photos.386741/page-6#post-6768429

• Replaced fan with 3FE fan

• Replaced new OEM radiator cap for kicks

• Dumped in a bottle of Water Wetter per suggestions

• Replaced all of the missing radiator foam on both sides of the radiator:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ne...ing-into-stupidity.802799/page-5#post-9228020

• Added JDM fan years ago:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/jdm-aux-fan-install-it-doesnt-get-easier.160331/

• Fresh oil change less than 5000k ago with Mobil 1 Syn:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-oil-change-for-the-non-purists-to-complain-about.807853/

• Timing is set to factory 3º

• Running cooler MR2 plugs

• Catalytic converters and Y-pipe replaced with CA carb compliant FlowMasters (Feb 2014):
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/im...erheating-despite-best-efforts.813023/page-70

• Installed Safari Snorkel which changed my IAFº temps MAJORLY:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/im...pite-best-efforts.813023/page-69#post-9578218

• Added Photoman's billet water pump pulley which is 15% smaller which makes the water pump spin faster at lower RPMS:

This may be crazy talk but are you confident your sending unit is giving you accurate info

Supercharger have anything to do with it? Unless I've spiked here in SoCal, my temp guage sits pretty horizontal. You are well above that.

so, at 233 your A/C blows hot ?

What about adding a thermometer to the upper and lower radiator hose? This will all you to assess if the the problem is in the radiator or somewhere else. I did this a long time ago to a LUV and after analysis I found the new aftermarket aluminum radiator was the problem. Found a used brass one and all was well.

Well, I don't know. 100% it should raise my temps a few degrees. But not the amount I'm seeing. If the temp gauge were horizontal I'd be ok with it.

I technically did that but haven't hooked up the gauge part of it yet because I haven't finished the plate its going to sit in. But still, I have the laser thermometer to give me temps for now.

The problem with adding so many new variables at one time is that it's hard to pinpoint where the problem lies. But it's also hard to add them one at a time. I had such high hope for your new system. U need a liquid nitrogen mister to bring down ur beast.

New T-stat not opening fully? So the temps were above normal even before the engine rebuild and SC install?

Is it possible your exhaust diameter is to small causing more back pressure and more heat. I'm no pro especially with sc applications just throwing it out there

Tell me about it. I didn't want to muck up the works by not going thru everything again to make sure I didn't screw something up. But I just can't seem to narrow down anything. I can cover the louvers and turn off the JDM fan but it won't help. In fact it hinders.

This is something I am thinking about. I've read a few threads on here that their new OEM thermostats were defective. I'm picking one up at SOR in a few minutes and will be testing it in a pot of hot water to see what happens. I think there is a 13º difference between the SC thermostat and the OE thermostat as well.

BTW, Kernal, don't you think its time for an avatar? :flipoff2:

Not as crazy as it sounds. Although I do have 327k miles on the original exhaust, I actually have no major blockages thru the system. That being said if someone smarter than myself can say, "hey dumbass...", then I will heed the message and consider that route.

Recall you have an ARB bumper. Thinking it is a recent addition however. Overheating same Pre-ARB as to present?

ARB was post engine rebuild but have noticed no temp issues. There is no winch or lights currently.
