Im about to remove and re fipg the oil pans due to a leak..what else should I replace while i have them off? (1 Viewer)

Clean your transmission connectors, under the intakes, while you're in there. And while you have them apart, fix that heater hose in the bottom of the intake; it's leaking onto those connectors. Both will be easier to access if you remove the starter. You can clean it while it's out; it's nasty anyway.

Just pull the engine and replace the rear main seal while you’re in there :flipoff2:
 
I just pulled the pans today because of a big rear arch oil leak. It's a huge, dirty job. I can't imagine how difficult this job would be on a rusty truck.

I have just the lower pan off my 94 right now to re-do the seal while drained for change. Just did the tranny pan but NCIH I'm touching the upper oil pan. I know mine...

I have some junk in my strainer. Is there any protocol for cleaning these other than removing the crud from the surface? Thank you.
