Ignitor 2F to a 3FE? (1 Viewer)

I have the old ignitor from the 87fj60.
Will the ignitor work in the 3fe? The part #'s don't match.
Will it work in a pinch or should I leave it at home?

What does an ignitor do anyways ???

Ignitor , takes the place of the points, it takes the signal from the pickup coil and fires the coil, most domestic auto makers call em an ignition module, on a fuelie motor it usually syncs the injectors also, so I doubt if the 2f and the 3fe are the same.
