I set my static timing at 14 degrees before TDC today. It seems to make my worn-out 2F, at 6,800' altitude, have way better throttle response, regardless of idle mix or throttle plate angle. The engine seems nicer (running) with more static advance, but, it takes more cranks from the starter.
Is the ball on the flywheel in a different position if you bought your Land Cruiser in Australia, Costa Rica, or Japan?
I have a non-USA vacuum advance distributor, and might run throttle-dependent advanced spark timing with it, but I don't know static timing specs from the factory.
Thanks in advance
