Ignition switch and lock cylinder missing mystery part (2 Viewers)

Taking key mounted on dash back to column. There is something missing between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch. A rod or something that connects the two. Any ideas on what the part is called or where to find one? 1976 FJ40.

You appear to be missing part of the mechanism. Looks like it broke off. I doubt you can find it new, so you might post in the classifieds for a used ignition assembly.

The switch side just has a tab to fit in the switch.

These are great. How would I know if I have a version with steering lock or not? When I purchased the vehicle the ignition was on the dash.
