Brought over my HDJ 80 from Japan a year ago. Love it. incert bragging point here...she starts at -42C plugged (no s***) and drives through/up/over anything to date:grinpimp:.

My problem is that she idles at 1100 rpm while in Park. The Idle screw is backed all the way off (came like that). After I drive her a bite she'll go down to 900 rpm in Drive but back to 1100 rpm in park or neutral.

I see where the cable is being stopped (not by the idle screw but by another gizmo) but can't seen to adjust it at all.

I'm worried about the tranny, the milege and the like.

Any insights? :bang:

Yep...your throttle butterfly may be gunked up..causing the throttle butterfly to get sticky. Clean it out with carb cleaner. Get all the varnish out and try it again.

Not sure if its possible on yours but in most rigs when the A/C kicks on the idle will jump up to about 1100 PRM and perhaps the relay for that is stuck closed.

You might get more responses in the diesel forum.
