Yes. That's Slee's new spindle cap for their rear bumper/tire carrier.
No more hammering in the cap.
This one is a sweet threaded aluminum deal.

They have also moved the tire to the center of the truck.
Looks pretty good on my 80, doesn't it:

I get it. License plate hitting a D-ring in the right side recovery point.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. I don't think that there is actually a problem with the plate clearing it--I haven't actually checked this--but I will tonight.

The wiring for the license plate light is safely attached to the arm and runs down behind the hinge.

Yup.
Koffer is right.
A D-ring in the right side recovery point does interfere with the license plate. The D-ring will certainly fit without issue, but you can't open the carrier without twanging the lisence plate on the ring. In addition, if you close the carrier with a ring in the right side point, the plate will sit in front of the ring--making for some carnage if you actually attached something to the ring and pulled.

The problem could be solved with a little trimming of the license plate, and the left side recovery point is obviously unobstructed.

The proper solultion would be Slee moving their license plate mount a couple centimeters to the left.

We actually did check the clearance. Actually we could move it. It is just two holes that are tapped. Problem is that if you move it to far, then it is behind the tire for the guys running large tires.

The wires run the same path they did when the license plate was mounted behind the tire. Problem was for some tall trucks the license plate was to high and some places don't like that either.

Yeah, but all the H2s driving around town keep THEIR D-rings on the bumper...

...what if I get stuck in the mall parking lot and need to be rescued? You mean I have to get out and put the D-ring on the bumper?



Couldn't be more impressed with the Slee rear.
I thought the front bumper was burly.

Everything fit perfectly and went together without any hiccups. The fit and finish are excellent.

The tire carrier is strong, smooth, and rattle-free.

I like to stand on my rear tire and the other foot on the edge of the bumper when I load the roof rack up, how wide is it ?

just wondering how much damage my toes will have after I pack up in Teva's.
