so, I scored a nice set of bolt on (can weld them though) shackles mounts and was wondering ideal placement on the front bumper?

do I want to place them more inboard and near the frame rails that the bumper attaches to? seems like if you go to far out, you could tweak the bumper but the closer you get to where the bumper mounts to the frame the less leverage on them?

seems pretty logical, but am I missing something before I start prepping the bumper?

UPDATE:

so, here is what I ended up with. mounted them nearest to the frame rails as I could. gonna have them welded on this week.

I would agree with your logic. Keep them fairly close to the frame rails. I was looking at this CCOT bumper and noticed the shackle placement.
