I asked the seller of this engine about the mfg. or make & he said there was no data plate. I was hoping a visual from the gurus here would be good enough to identify. Is that a Mercedes symbol stamped on the block?

It's a merc engine. Can tell from the unit fuel pumps and the plastic housing for the oil filter at the front. Not sure what model it would be though

Looks like a atego truck engine...

Mike

Sent from my iPad using IH8MUD... fun starts where the road ends

I agree on the atego...in fact it's a Om904la Mercedes engine.

I hope your buying it, that is a good one right there.

Here is another one.

Looks like a om906la to me. Does it come with the engine computer as it doesn't seem to be on the side of the engine

Those are the only pics the seller provided, so I'll assume nothing else is included in the sale. Now, I have to research on what manuals fit behind it. Thanks for the help mates :D

Just how big are these engines,4BT cummins size? That weird looking oil pan is obviously meant to fit around something on the Artego, probably the front axle.I wonder how it will go clearing the cruiser diff.
I would be a torque monster for sure.

They're pretty big, the fours are definitely bigger than an Isuzu four cylinder. You would need to make a custom sump for it anyway-the ones they have on them are plastic :p

With that front sump, you would need a huge lift to clear the diff!

Plastic oil pans are ok, but how do you modify one? Pretty difficult to fab one, unless the it's all flat around the block and no seals are involved.

Interesting engine, but computers make me nervous when they are hacked and installed in other vehicles, but it can be done. ASTR is doing an electronic Isuzu and other have done them, but lots of work.

ok so for i little bit of info. the om906la is used in a franna crane. the AT15 runs the 906 with a 2000 series allison with a gvm around 15T and will do the 80km/hr

AT20 and MAC25 run the 906 with a 3000 series allison with a gvm of about 20T and 25T and will 90 and 80km/hr.

sump capacity is around 30 liters

and the size of the inteercooler used is bigger than what you could fit in the front of a 4wd.
