I did the map and firmware update took less time than I thought.

You absolutely have to use a 32 gig thumb drive. I tried using a larger one but it would not format to the FAT32 required formatting.

Download the files to a folder in on your computer and then you run the exe and then load onto the thumb drive.

The rest is easy.

It also updates the software on the head unit. No more reverse camera randomly not turning on.

Toyota told me again and again there were no software updates for the head unit. Come to find you get it all with the map update.

Did the map/sw update over the weekend. Took a little over an hour once the usb was set up.

1. I used a 64gb thumb drive (requires fat32)
2. Downloaded the files from the site
3. Sent the picture of the map data screen; got the key code
4. I was on a Mac, used unarchiver to unpack the 7zip file. There's two files just point to the 001 file; it'll find the 002 automatically.
5. Copied the unpacked files to the USB drive and headed out to the LC.
6. Followed the instructions... Everything went smoothly.

Have not driven anywhere or tested it out in any capacity. Yet.
