This is a very nice unit; however the camera is 17mm in diameter and will not fit through a 14mm spark plug hole for inspection. You need to be careful when using this camera head around automotive fluids. Owner's Manual -
"FOR AUTOMOBILES: Be sure the automobile is not running during inspection. Metal and liquid under the hood may be hot. Do not get oil or gas on the imager head. Exposure to petroleum-based substances will eventually degrade the imager head covering."

I've got a 3' fiber optic scope and I think this rigid unit is a much nicer design and far more user friendly. I would pick this unit over what I already have, except for one issue. I just wish the head were small enough to fit through a spark plug hole like the scope I currently have (the mirror on my current unit also fits through the spark plug hole).

the narrower the head, the better for engine work I would think.

Then again, say you can push it through a spark plug hole. Can you bend the tip enough that you can see something interesting like valves or the cylinder walls? Especially with spark plug tunnels. Or maybe use mirrors? But then some don't seem to have much depth of view.
