this morning just south of Union Hills. Anyone know who this is? It's someone that gets the cruiser thing as he waived first.

oh yeah daryl we know who that was, i mean there was only what 3 of the rare blue fj60 imported to this country?:flipoff2:

BTW how do ya like that black-ish FJ45 on 59th ave? nice huh? i stopped to invite the owner to a meet or website, but before i could get out anything the lady at the door said its not for sale and shut it on my face, huh i guess alot of folks have asked if its for sale.

Haven't seen the 45 yet. Where's the cross road on that? I sometimes take 59th to work (19th & P-peak rd.) of a morning if I get a late start, so it would have to be north of Peoria and south of P-peak road.

The 45 is on 51st ave 1/2 mile north of Thunderbird. Northeast corner of 51st ave and Acoma. The house faces Acoma but the truck can be seen better off 51st ave. I never stopped and asked about it, I already have a 45. Besides my wife would kill me if I bought another cruiser right now. You would think they would move it under cover somewhere just to keep people from stopping by if they are not interested in selling.

I can totally understand how they feel. I had a S-10 blazer that sat in my drive way for quite awhile and I bet at least once a week I had someone come by and knock or leave a note wondering if I wanted to sell it. It got pretty old after awhile. I didn't have room to pull it in the garage, because I am storing my ex's la baron in one of the spots.

It gets even better, Get this, I have even had people stop and ask if I want to sell the la baron when the garage is up while I'm doing yard work or other things. I always say, "Do ya see a for sale sign?" Then you've got your answer!:flipoff2:

Where do some people get off... it makes me wonder.

WHOA!

I've bought cars out of back yards in the past. I'm talking about cars I spotted througn a wood fence in the back alley. I bought a 56 Chrysler wagon out of a yard I looked into off the freeway. In fact, the truth is... EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE! Some things are just priced wrong.

I've learned that not stopping to ask is where you miss the good stuff. A super clean original matching #s 66 SS Chevele that I've been scoping in a yard for 10 years and never stopped to ask about was just purchased by an acquaintence for $1500 because the meth-head owner was short on rails a couple weeks back. He stopped... I didn't. I'd have traded any one of my cars for it. And sure as hell wouldn't have thought twice about $1500. You just never know. Someday the old guy over by my kid's sitter's house will actually come to the realization that he's not gonna restore those 2 40's in his yard. When he does, I'll be there to snatch 'em up. I stop once every other month or so for my verbal let down.

I know, I know, I know... if you don't ask, you don't receive. I did cold call sales for years in the alcohol business and had to approach both on and off premise potential accounts on a daily basis. I had been put through the D.E. Jones sales program while working for United Beverage, and had been taught the "stop light" method of sales. It involves determining where a customer is on a scale with red being don't even try to sell anything and green being sell him everything including the kitchen sink. The goal being to do what ever it takes to get them to a green light open sale mood.

That being said, I guess you can say I am in a very red light mood when it comes to people interrupting my life, trying to buy one of my possessions that I'm not willing to part with yet. Sorry, Bman, I also don't agree that everything is for sale. There are some things I own that I would never part with for any price offered. I feel strongly about family history and heirlooms, and believe that these things should be handed down through the family linage over time. I am still pissed at my father for selling an 1863 Brunswick slap pocket pool table that had been on my mother's side of my family since it was new, and had been promised to me by my grandfather. While the table was worth upwards of 10K, he took $600 for it, at an estate auction after my mothers death 6 years ago. He didn't need the money, but he let an auctioneer get in his ear about how much he could make off an estate sale, and he sold off my family history on my mother's side till there was things left that no one wanted. Those were the things then that he left to my siblings and myself. He looked at it as being stuff that my brother, sister, and myself didn't need, and he could make a buck or two off of it. It was wrong, and I wouldn't do it to my kids.

However, in a plot straight from the twilight zone, I found the table this past weekend at a reception at my girlfriend's aunt's house. A cousin by marriage on Jami's side of the family had purchased it and is willing to sell it back to me after hearing the whole story. He wants what he has in it for the refurbish, and it is in our family again. Now I need room for it.

While I agree with BMAN that everything is for sale eventually and at the right price (remember, this country runs on capitalism ), I also find myself attached to many things I wouldn't want to let go. On the one hand, it shows that over the years, I have been successful in surrounding myself with mostly stuff I really like, but on the other hand, I just don't feel it's right to get too attached to what is ultimately just things, and that includes cars/trucks.......since I haven't found a solution to this dilemma, I am becoming a pack rat . The one fortunate practical limitation from acquiring too many vehicles is the amount of garage space :D

You can beat garage space with "FRIENDS". John (offroader5) stores my FJ45LV and another friend is storing my 67 VW bug. Plus 2 cars in the garage 2 in the driveway and 2 in the back yard. I am the pentultimate packrat, but alas... everything is forsale.
