Hello everyone! I am Juan Pablo Gonzalez and I want to present my 1974 model fj45 project, I am close to starting a complete restoration and I would like to show you the process that I am going to do with it.

This truck has been in storage for about 30 years, fortunately it was a warehouse where it was away from the water and the sun

JuanPablo,

The green bed behind your truck is a LONGbed, as is the one in the brochure photo. Some of us can help further identify what you have if you share a photo of the metal VIN plate and the frame number on the RH front out side of your frame.

Yes sir, it is a totally original fj45 "long bed", it still has the factory glasses

Wow! You are a very lucky man Juan.

I certainly appreciate your goal of a complete restoration. BUT...that thing is in such good/original shape...me? I would strongly consider getting it totally up to speed, safety and mechanically and then spend some time on the thread about ‘preserving patina’.

Either way, you’ve got a great platform to start with, congratulations.

Thank you very much for your advice, well frankly it is not the first fj that I restore, I already did the course with a fj43 2 years ago and with which I learned a lot about these fjs, if I did not have several rotten ones I would go to preserve it with its patina but certainly It is the best path I should take ... here are some photos of the fj43 that I restored a few years ago, I hope you like it
