No concrete again this weekend. The fellow that owns/operates the pumping company had a death in the family. I was not able to schedule another company.

I said goodbye an old friend yesterday. I sold my old air compressor to a fellow cruiser head.

Then I performed a task I have been dreading for some time. I drilled the water line through the foundation and routed it into the crawl space. I hate working in a crawl space!

The slab had 18” turn down footings plus the remaining top of post footers. The slab was only supposed to be 4” thick, but I think someone miss measured. Since the concrete was pumped I had to use a small line mix it was also a fiber mesh mix. With that said it was $150.00/yard.

So any sketches of how you're gonna layout the inside? Jumping the gun a bit I suppose.

Other than having the lift behind the 10’ wide door on the right side of the building, there are no solid plans yet and nothing drawn out.

Nice job. I'm sure it will settle some but I would want 6" or more of concrete between the soil and the top of my slab (actually I would want all I could get without sloping the ground toward the concrete). Otherwise your grass will be up into the siding.

Thanks for the advice WDE. Ultimately I plan on putting stone on both sides and the front. After that concrete bill it may not happen as soon as I initially planned.

They are starting to turn and fall. We have had several cool nights and dry sunny days. Next week may be peak season for us.

To make a long story short, the company I purchased the building from has a couple of contractors that build for them. The initial builder seems to be too busy to complete my job so one of their other builders has agreed to finish my building. After coming out this evening to check the work already done and ensure the trusses and bar joists were the correct size, they said they could start tomorrow morning!
