Just wanted to get started here. I recently bought swimfans FJ60. I have been fond of LC's for a long time and now I finally own one. I am a total newbie so please forgive my future ignorance. I live near Astoria Oregon so hit me up if you are nearby. My other vehicles are a 1966 Chevelle wagon and a 2006 Magnum R/T.....so needless to say it's wagons all the way! Thanks Casey for the great lead to a great site. It's so cool to be able to see the history of the build and witness all thats transpired good and bad, it really helps. Look for me at Rod Run to the End of the World in Ocean Park, Unfinished Nationals in Elma, or cruisin the beach for that perfect wave........Pura Vida, Stu

So post up some wagon pics (can link to Flickr or something)! I'd actually like to see the Chevelle as well--

Here's a shot of my wagon. It is fresh out of the paint booth and ready for the glass and chrome to get installed. Much love has gone into this car. The car is now rust free, rebuilt 283/th350. It sounds very healthy with a lumpy cam, gear drive, headers, and flow masters. I've owned it for 7 years now and usually it gets shuffled to the bottom of the priority list....I am hoping to get it all put back together and buff it out so I can sell it to pay for my V8 FJ conversion. Or trade it to somebody for the swap.

Hey there- welcome to Mud- sorta new to the LC thing myself, living over in Portland, so sorta close to you.
I have an 1983 FJ60- needs a new harmonic balance, side cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and fuel pump gasket- other than that, its its good shape. Anyways, wanted to say hi and see ya on the coast-

I spent all day detailing my new ride

Spic and span! I spent half the day using gunk and a pressure washer on the underside so I can determine where my leaks are located. The smell of GUNK burning off the engine is so nauseating. Today was family/ surf day at the beach. The waves were small but super fun and the sun finally showed it's face around here..... The 60 makes such a great surf rig!

lookin good I'm scared to get mine with in 100 miles of salt water :frown:
Yeah, rust does terrify me too. That's just the cost of living on the coast. I do wash my cars a whole lot and spray off the underside if I drive the beach to deter it. My Chevelle wagon sits in the garage all the time and I still have to polish the chrome once in a while to keep the rust off.
