Yes, there are a ton of possibilities.

I am working on trying to find a complete engine assembly locally, that I can tear apart, and start having parts on hand to sell, or act as core charges for people who want the same parts done up.

With valve cover, the inner shield will trap any particulate and it will be washed out during operation into your engine.

I would NOT want any abrasive of any sort to be rinsed into my engine after cleaning.

The cleaning looks great and I can see the old cars enthusiasts using your services to restore old parts to new looking condition.

The valve covers are thoroughly rinsed after shooting, both with chemicals, and water. Then blasted with air. There is always the small possibility of a contaminant making it into the engine, but it’s very low. About the same risk as when you get your deck shaved, or your head reworked and a metal filing finding its way into an oil passage.

I’ve blasted valve covers on both my 40 series, and my 80 SERIES, and have not had any trouble out of them. But there’s always going to be some risk associated with contamination. Luckily, the particles are very small, and go into suspension easily with water.

Your shooting glass and filtered water though, even as a contaminant it should hold less risk to mechanical components than metal shavings or sand

Ok, here is an idea that you probably have had. Find the cheapest, dirtiest, and nastiest 1FZ engine and vapor hone only half of it. Tape that baby right down the middle then do what you do.

You are looking at clean, raw aluminum. Looks BETTER than a new part. As a matter fact, I have purchased new OEM parts from Toyota, only to immediately Vapor blast them to get the finish I want.
