I am having my steering box rebuilt so I thought that I might as well get it tapped for Hydro Assist Steering. Anyone have any pictures of how they mounted the ram? It just dosnt look like there is any room back there.

For me, the sway bar is still mountable because, a few years ago, one of the factory axle brackets tore free from the axle so I made my own version, which are taller and thicker. At the time the extra height was to help make up for suspension lift but now I’m glad I did it because the sway bar clears the assist ram. I don’t run the bar most of time but when I mount up and load the roof rack for a vacation road trip I like running the front bar.

This is where mine ended up. Not ideal since it’s on the drag link and not the tie rod so it pushes off the frame instead of the axle. New control arms and oil pan/tie rod clearance won’t allow for it in stock location anymore. Actually works really well for me.

Holy PS fluid coolers! I run only the big one you have there and temps stay below 150.

Similar to baldilocks set up

It tucks down in front of the tie rod more so it well clear the oil pan with a 3" lift. 1.5 x 9" ram

FWIW Running it behind on the tie rod takes the pressure off the right side knuckle bolts and steering box sector shaft , a win win plus it's easy to turn in the big rocks with big meats.
Running it in the front on the drag link relieves pressure on the sector shaft but put more pressure on the right side lower knuckle bolts. JMHO
