Anyone here w/ a huskyliner for the rear cargo area tell me if it has a "lip" along the rear edge near the tailgate, or is it flat? If it has the lip, does this interfere with loading gear or when you sit on the tailgate?

I have one for the 80 series, don't use it now that I have drawers installed. It does have a lip and basically got bent down permanently from loading/unloading. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It is there to hold fluid if it spills.

Jim_Chow: Don't know about the Husky but I have a Nifty mat with the locking corners for sale:

I can't use it anymore since adding the AO drawer unit. It has a lip at the back. FYI: I have the same Nifty mats for DS, PS and Middle floor sections and they have been great. I got them really, really muddy this hunting season and they, just like they advertise, just hose right off without staining.

Jim_Chow,

Yes, the rear Husky Liner cargo mat does have a lip at the edge by the tail gate. I don't seem to have a problem catching on things. See my pic here http://candidotapia.tripod.com/id23.html

Jim I've got the OEM Lexus ones and they fit like they were cut for the RX instead. I'd recommend them highly if they only fit better. The second row Lexus OEM matts don't even go all the way across. Their just for each side!

Looking at your link, maybe the ones I have are really for the RX. Hmmm....
The rear's don't quite match the outline they have. Maybe their diagram isn't accurate either. Definitely DO NOT buy them without going to the dealer first to see if they fit worth a crap is my main point. :D

I have one of the Husky cargo mats. Yes, the lip does stick up and Yes, it did bother me. I used a razor knife and trimmed the lip off in that section. Easy to do and looks fine to me. It's been laying in the garage since I put in the cargo drawers.

jim,

i have the husky for my l/c and like them a lot. i also have the lexus ones for my wife's rx 330 and like them a lot too. i dont think you can wrong with either ones

Spressoman I might be interestedin your mats but they are selling the cargo liner like you show for $65 new on Ebay. Does $65 buy me the front rear and cargo? If so I will take them.

Husky liners

I have the husky liners in front middle and cargo. the front and cargo work great, especially for catching the snow (or sodas). Not too impressed with the cargo area as it shifts around because it does not have the little spikes that stick out to prevent that. the front and middle both have them.

Solded. FYI: Nifty makes two different models. The one I have is the more expensive of the two because of the corner locks...

I don't have it yet, but given the high level of customer service I'm getting, I can highly recommend WeatherTech products. My parents had given me a cargo mat for my '05 Pathfinder for Christmas and it had been in the back of the Pathfinder since (though hadn't been used for anything dirty). I recently traded in the Pathfinder for a 2006 Lexus LX-470 and figured it couldn't hurt to contact WeatherTech to see if I could make an exchange. They were fine with it - send the old mat back and as long as it's in good shape, they'll do it. They just called me to let me know the old was has been received and wanted to confirm the address to send the new one to. All I have to pay is the difference in price ($10 more) - they're covering the shipping. I was happy with the mat in the Pathfinder, so I expect this one will be fine too.

The company that makes GREAT mats is Land Rover - much better than the mats that Lexus (and I would assume Toyota) offer. Their line of mats (front, back seat, cargo area) is excellent. Very heavy duty and feel like real rubber, which means that things don't slip around on them much at all. Unfortunately, Land Rover doesn't make mats that fit other brands of vehicles :frown:.

I agree on the WeatherTech's too...great product & company if you are looking for rubber type mats.

Would you go with the same color mat as your interior? I have the oak interior but wonder if the black mat would hide any dirt or anything else? I will be hauling my 90 lb black lab.

I went with black - no issue with it not quite matching. The other colors offered are bound to be somewhat close, but not an exact color match. Black will look good with just about anything.

Jiim,
Sorry for the slow response. I've got the Husky mats up front and the liner in the rear compartment in Oak color. I've had the liner for about 5 years and love it. Especially because it has the raised lip all around to catch spills, liquid or otherwise.

After a day at the beach I just pull it out and brush or hose off all the sand from chairs, towels, dog etc. The lip has never been an issue. The only time you will notice it is if you need to slide something heavy in like furniture.

I would go with black next time because the oak color showes any dark scuff marks.

Well I knew Landrover must be good at something to still be in business......I just could never work out what it was!!!!!!!

lol

In all seriousness, their vehicles are REALLY nice when they're not in the shop. If they could address their quality control issues (not a minor point, but...), they'd have a great product.

That's why one of my prerequisites for the 100 was the tan/beige interior...I have a yellow lab. :) That's also another reason to get real leather seats...hair doesn't stick to it. The mats that came with it are dark gray (2nd row seat mat is a single carpeted mat). Don't the nifty mats hose out just like the husky liners?
