    Does anyone know the css code to change the spacing between paragraphs. I found line spacing {line-height: 180%} and the ellusive indent p { text-indent: 3em} but I haven't found out how to reduce the space between. I know CSS can handle all these but the default paragraph separator is a 'paragraph space' which is about half of the line-height.

    one step forward, two steps back....Who whould have thought html doesn't support indented paragraphs. Now I got it and I tabbed everything else on my page.

    Anyone know the markup to tell html not to use the css?

    learning html using nothing but google is a :censor:

    ID Selectors allow you to change css throughout a page (like indent a paragraph and not indent every line in the whole page)

    <!--

    .htmlstinks {
    text-indent: 3em;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-right: 0px;
    margin-bottom: 5px;
    margin-left: 0px;
    }

    -->

    and in the text.....<p class="htmlstinks">my html guy went to check on the rental property yesterday and never came back. I guess he is playing with his new air compressor.</p>

    I am also trying to learn CSS. Its very addictive in a way. I have built sites with bad html, frames, tables and Dreamweaver in the past. I got turned on to using very lean html and CSS. Its really very powerful and has a lot going or it. Unfortunately Internet Explorer for Windows is a popular browser. It also sucks. It has very poor support for web standards. You can build way cool stuff that looks just great in Firefox, Safari, new Netscape etc but will fall apart in IE for Windows. I still don't know why Microsoft stuff is so popular...

    A couple of good resources:

    http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/

    I remade our Seattle cruiser club site with CSS. No bad markup or tables etc.

    Cheers,
