My heavy front/medium rear springs went in with no problems.
I am very happy with the ride and stance so far.
Also glad I have the CC bushings as it needs it.
So I have gone up 3" so it seems obvious to me that I should put on 1.5" spacers to widen the wheels stance.
In the past I remember some saying 1.25" but could not find the info again when searching.
Could someone please post up some pics of rigs with OME heavy or medium lifts with 285/75's and recommended spacers?
Advice greatly appreciated.
Bill

I think the spacers you are referring to are height spacers to raise the nose 1.5" to even out the truck. They are available in the Vendors section from FZJFillmore and others.

He used heavy fronts for that purpose.

You really don't need a wider stance for a 3" lift unless you want it....the 80 is wide and stable to start with, but I'd stay at 1" if you really want to do it...

Depending on how he loads it, he may still need spacers up front. Here is heavy fronts/medium rears with 1.5mm aluminum front spacers and 20 mm of OME trim packers. This truck has ARB, dual batts, Warn 9K and 35s.

i'd grab a tape measure and see for yourself what you like

Thanks for nothing guys.
No I did not mean trim packers (spacers)
I should have specified wheel spacers I guess.
NorcalDoug and several others have posted on this in the past I just could not get the d*&$ search to show me any love.
I had to go digging and finally found what I looking for.
Here it is if anyone else is interested.

Sorry we dropped the ball on doing your search for you.
lol :D

after reading that thread, im still looking for the answer many raised. what are the ill effects of running wheel spacers? Also will running these spacers aid in getting rid of the rubbing associated with running 315s? thus reducing the need for extending the bumpstops and preserving that extra 2inches of upward travel? basically im confused whether adding wheel spacers is strictly aesthetic or if it is indeed a solution to a problem? as personally i feel the stance is wide enough to handle the 3 inch lift.

Bill, im not knocking your decision to add them im just looking to see if it might be something helpful for when i add 315s

I have run these OME lifts with 295s and 315s and have never run wheel spacers to widen the stance. I guess its a matter of personal preference.

Elmariachi - Yeah you dropped it. Try harder next time you slacker. At least I tried to search first but dead ended into trim packer/spacers threads. It helps when I actually know the right terminology for what I am asking.

Jerome3 - I just have 285/75 so it looks like the wheels are in to far to me.
Common sense just make me think that when going up one should also go out to preserve the center of gravity. No one wants to be more tipsy and the wheels spacers are not that much $$.

i understand all that i personally also love the look of an 80 with a wider track think it looks awsome. im lookint o put 315s on n was just wondering if they aided in reducing/eliminating the rubbing involved

At some point the tires are large enough that they rub the inner part of the wheel well, so you space them out to cure this. Of course, as you do this, you begin to face the prospect of flare/fender rubbing, all of which depends on the amount of lift/travel you have in terms of the angle of the tire entering the wheel well.

A wider track helps with tall lifts in the stability department and it does look cooler, but you can get that look simply by taking off your flares. Less backspace and/or wheel spacers will both increase leverage on bearings, and presumably shorten bearing life, but if you need the tires spaced out, you need 'em spaced out.

thanks nay for clearing it all up for me.
