Accidently took my key fob swimming for more than one hour yesterday. I though I lost that $250 key fob but took it apart and all are sealed and dry. I have never replace the battery yet so I did not know it was water proof.
Thumbs up for Toyota for designing good key fob.

Good to know...I have had to replace my key allready, too damn expensive.

I don't know about being water proof, but replacing those things are expensive. One of mine broke the other day and the key shaft separated from the upper part that houses the remote buttons. Luckily I have two of that type and was able to use the other one. I called the dealership and they said it would cost $300 to replace it. If I wanted to get a valet key, I could get one for about $60.

My wife left ours on a bench in our back yard as she ran the sprinklers for the lawn. It stood up with no problem. Thankfully.
