Hi all, total newb here that hasn't posted in ages.
My 92 has been my daily for years, but the alternator finally decided to die on me.

I'd like to replace it with an OEM or as close to as available.

It seems there were two alternators available for the 92 year... is that wrong?
How do I tell which one I have in my truck without knowing what I'm looking at?
Is there a link anyone has that would ideally let me plug in my VIN and spit out exactly what's in there and what the replacement options are?

Many thanks in advance to anyone that can help!!

I don't think you have any choice these days for a 'Reman' except the 27060-61100-84

Pretty sure everything else has been discontinued.

Maybe check with ToyotaMatt, he finds and resells some hard to find parts,
occasionally coming up with NOS items. But as mentioned above if Toyota still has a reman'd part (indicated by -84 after the part number), that's one way to go.

Only one available as mentioned above. Not a bad price for OEM

1992 was a crossover year for alternators. Early 92 got an 80 amp unit with an external fan. Later 92 got a 90 amp unit with an internal fan. Mounting for each is different, but adaptable if you get the correct bracketry.

Another option is to rebuild the original alternator (yourself); be careful if you have someone else do it; IME most rebulders use made in Chynna components. Denso components may still be available but you'll pay a lot for them. FWIW.
