How to repair mirror base rash

The salt air has done a number on my mirror bases. Anyone know how to best address the problem?

You could try a skim coat of 3M Platinum filler or a product like it. Then sand it after it drys, prime it, then paint it to match your body color.

Take it apart, glass bead blast it, then paint to the color of choice.

I recall (decades ago) watching an old school body guy use a type of solder for something like that repair, called "leading". The mirror base would have to be removed from the plastic housing due to the heat involved. FWIW.
