So last week a lady pulls out in front of me and totals my 06 uzj100. It still runs just fine, radiator was not breached just the passenger front tire was pushed back pretty good.

The morning before the wreck I had just put 17 gallons of 91 100% gas in the damn thing. I would like to recover all that gas before Progressive comes to collect my car tomorrow.

What I've done is remove the fuel line that quick connects to the fuel rails from the fuel filter and attached a fuel line that is going to a 5 gallon gas tank. I pulled the fuel pump relay and jumped battery and pump lead. Pump does not run with key on. What am missing, is it not as simple as I'm thinking it should be? Put everything back together and she starts right up...

I'm pissed I'm losing my UZJ100 but will get a 21 tundra to replace it.

To operate fuel pump with key ON (engine not cranking)
  1. Remove C/OPN relay from fuse box sits next to battery.
  2. Short pins 3 & 5 (fuse box side)
The 2 golden pins are pins 3 & 5.
