how to drop the windshield 82 fj40 (2 Viewers)

wondering if anyone else already figured this out.

do i remove the windshield wiper motor? to fold down?

how easy is this process.

i remeber looking at it and it, seemed to not have enough room to fold down.

It folds down fine with the motor on on my 81 BJ42, 82 FJ should be the same, if not the wiper motor is easily removed but I cant imagine that you would need to.

Th later model FJ-40's with the low mount wiper motors are equiped with windshield hinges which move the 'shield forward as the 'shield comes down. No worries.

??? Are you asking if you need to remove the wiper motor to just fold down the windscreen and go "safari style"??? unscrew the dash knobs/bolts and fold it down... thats it. Instant coolness!!!

I was surprised how windy it is with the windshield down.

just a note nobody mentioned.. the hard top will need to be off to fold it down..

The hard top needs to come off to fold the windshield down, so the two things (roof rack and lowered windshield are not compatible.
