Any Ideas on how and where to boost my little 2L-te, I was thinking of a dual stage manual boost controller, or any other means of boosting it.

I'm a picture learner, but if none are available, words of wisdom work too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Sorry no pictures. but have a look at your turbo and see where the turbo's wastgate is located. Sould be a rod connected to a actuator. the actuator is controlled by air pressure from the turbo outlet. When it hits a certain point it fills the acutator and pushes the rod in to open the exhaust wastegate. Thus not allowing as much air thru the exhaust turbine.

But controlling the this airline to the actuator can delay the opening and max your max psi higher. You need a very simple boost controller. Like a davis device. Try searching that. I made one my self with a 1/8 brass tee, a spring and ball bearing. Cap in one end puts more or less spring pressure on.

But I have not tested it yet. I would just buy one of I was you......... IMOP.

Shimming is very limited, the purpose of shimming is to back up the actuator t a little further from the wastegate. It delays it a bit. But not much. It's to make up for a weaken'd diaphram from age.

Shimming is done by putting washers at the mounting bracket of the actuator. But it has to be in way that puts the actuator further away.

So look for the black line that runs from the turbo oulet to the underneath where the actuator is. Once you find that you can cut it and install a controller. Just get a 20-40 buck one. But you also need a boost gauge. And if your going to get one of those make sure you also get a pyro.

G-luck

actually, on those models just disconnect the waste gate actuator line completely and you are good to go...

anything else involved other than capping the actuator line?? any fuel adjustments?

nope
make sure you install a boost guage and pyro (water temp is recommended as well.
(i sell a 3 guage dash pod for the 70 series)

sure, what do you have to loose??
;^)
i would GUESS 14 lbs would be very acceptable on that engine
