Could someone please tell me how to test an fj40 rear heater motor outside the vehicle? Can I use a 12v battery? It has two wires, the white with black stripe that grounds to the bottom body of the heater and a blue wire. Thank you.

Yep just apply +12 volts to either L wire. You must have a older 2 speed fan, so one wire is low speed, the other high. Obviously you can also hook your WB to batt - if your body ground is questionable.

thank you big red. I tried that and didn't get anything, I didn't think the ground was good. it spins freely by hand and the brushes don't look terrible so I'm wondering if it's burned out.

Whoops, didn't have the ground wire on the terminal right, works like charm now, thank you!

Holy revive batman. I’m having trouble getting my ground right and can’t find a photo of how it ought to be to save my life. Any pics?
