So I just got back from a 12 day trip that took me to Mojave Preserve, Overland Expo West, Northern Nevada, Eastern Sierras, and finally Death Valley.

I got a chance to use both MTS and Crawl. Crawl saved my bacon in Nevada after getting stuck in a muddy washed out ditch. I went through the ditch fine in one direction, but that road was a dead end. Heading back was the issue. Heading back the ditch had a shallow entrance (why I was able to cross over the first time no problem, it was a shallow exit) but the far side was a steep drop off so I had trouble climbing the now far side of this ditch. To add to that the truck was sliding off to the driver's side. So I decided to see if Crawl would get me unstuck like the video of the Tacoma showed. So I activated Crawl then put it in reverse and let it do it's thing. At first it didn't seem to be doing much, just small throttle input and some ABS noise. But after what seemed like 30 or 45 seconds, I start to notice the my truck lifting up and going back ever so slightly.. then finally it just started driving out of the ditch.

So my second attempt at going through the ditch with a little more speed.. aannnd stuck again.. This time I tried Crawl again but going forward. I didn't go forward the last time because of the way the truck was sliding to the driver's side. This time I just allowed the front to slide until it was stopped by the brush (fortunately there was no drop off on this trail). This seemed to take longer to get the truck going while going forward. I also had to give it some steering input to try and find traction for the front wheels. But again after about a min or so the truck started to inch forward until it finally crested the ditch and crawled out. I have to say not needing to get pulled out (I was with a friend in another truck) or deal with maxtracs in the mud was to me well worth the upgrade price.

I also had a good chance to use MTS this trip. Using the Rock setting to get through Mengal pass in Death Valley helped quite a bit. I first tried with the factory atrac settings, but was getting typical wheel slippage when attempting to get over some of the waterfall features. I then engaged the Rock settings in MTS, after this there was very little wheel slippage. There was a night and day difference (My SO might have video of this, I'll see if I can get it from her post it). I also had a chance to use the mud setting in Death Valley yesterday after all the rain and snow near Hunter Mountain. I think the most noticeable change this offers is with the throttle input. I seemed to dampen input so you wouldn't spin the tires as easily.
That's an awesome post on the functionality of Crawl and M/T! Really appreciate the story.
It just makes me want add them to my rig that much more!! Have to wait a wee bit though for time and a little extra funds. Hopefully by the end of Summer.

Final update: Crawl control working, Used this thread ( https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-techstream-in-5-minutes.1034923/ )
bought the cable ($30) and did the downloads and now everything works, 45min after getting the cable.

Summary : installed MTS and Crawl Control, Paid local tech stream pro but he couldn't do it. Took to dealer to repair AFS (Headlights) they said they could do the CC calibration. NOPE, no dice on crawl control and added errors/ faults.

Got everything today and kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Between the OP and the aforementioned thread GX is ready for trails.

Thank you 22Eyunu35VO

Congrats! Now how about posting some trail porn!!!
Let's see those new little gizmos working!

2020 crawl switch which integrates MTS. Poster with an LX 570 on CL mentioned if this works like that rig 4H MTS Mud/Sand mode may be limited to 4L only on the '20s. If one wants to add just MTS to a non-off-road package '20 they may have to purchase the crawl switch as well. Time will tell until someone mods one later this year.

Where is that "red" interior/seat from???

Nice... I like it, depending upon exterior color.

So I want to add MTS to my 2015. My only confusion is how do I toggle the modes? I know you need the switch for crawl but how is the MTS accessed?

This hasn't been installed and tested yet but looks like the 090 is that unicorn Crawl switch for non-AVS/RAHC models. Here are a few pictures kindly shared by GXOR member who purchased the switch. No confirmed installs yet but really no reason to believe this won't retrofit like the 070. We do not have a confirmed install yet though.

Is there anyone in the Seattle area, who has added the new switches and done the reprograming would be willing to help me? Practice makes perfect and honestly I'm a bit nervous poking and hoping around internal electronics.

If you just want to do the Multi Terrain switch, all you need to do is purchase the ~$100 switch, pull off some panels that are only clipped in, plug in the module and from I understand, you're done! Just start your vehicle and use the thumb control on the right spoke of the steering wheel and you should see it. It should be listed along with AFS (on/off) and Parking Assist (on/off).
Look at post #94 on the previous page (page 5).
