I'm Knee deep into my birfield job and I'm still not sure how much grease to put into the birfields and knuckles.

I looked through several links and I just want to make sure I'm in the ballpark.

I packed the birfield as full as i could and put most of the rest of the 1lb. tub into the crevas between the knuckle and the axle tube. I tried to get it in there especially on the top and the bottom where the knuckle bearings are.

Does that sound about right, or am I under or over adding grease?

If I were to guesstimate I would say I used the better part of the tub.

You've got the birf right. A spatula can help to really pack that grease in deep into the balls.

On the cavity, FSM says 2/3 full, and I think I used not quite one tub per side (birf + knuckle). As long as there is still some room, you're probably good.
